DoggySnaps Website
1. You must own the dog and the pictures you are posting.
2. SPONSOR DOGS have their own pages on DoggySnaps: We love dog sponsors but, if you do sponsor a dog, please don’t create a page for him or her - as this will mean we have loads of different pages featuring the same dog. Just add our page to your friends or add your pictures to an existing dog profile. If you have any pictures of YOUR OWN of the sponsor dogs please forward them to us with your kennel name and we will TRY and add them to the dogs page.
3. Treats are nice. It’s a fun thing. But it’s not a popularity contest. Please don’t beg other users for treats – it’s annoying!
4. Mind your manners. Remember that young people will be looking at the site. As a general rule, if it wouldn’t be said or shown on a TV programme shown before 9pm, don’t post it.
5. Respect other members of the community. We appreciate that there will be differences of opinion in forums but there is no place for abusive or threatening dialogue. Treat others as you would like to be treated. If another community member is behaving in an inappropriate manner, don’t respond in kind – report the incident to the Editor. a) If an argument or disagreement happens in private keep it in private bring it onto the forum
b) If an argument does start on the forum and it is between two people leave it
6. Dogs don’t discriminate on the basis of age, race, religion or sex – we expect DoggySnappers to be the same. Any offensive behaviour will result in a DoggySnaps ban.
7. This is a site for dogs and their owners. You may put up one non-doggy pic in your kennel as long as it is NOT the primary pic and it is relevant – eg the cat your dog shares a home with. You could therefore images of your cat in the profile for your dog but not in a profile of its own.
8. Protect your privacy – don’t publish your e mail address or other contact details which could lead to unwanted approaches.
9. Minors should definitely not divulge their age when adding details to the site. This is an open site and we have no control over who browses.
10. The Lamp Post HumanSnaps and Fancy A Chat forum topic is open for people to chat about off-topic stuff. Threads posted elsewhere should be relevant to dogs.
11. You should only upload photographs to which you own the rights. Failure to comply will result in the photographs being removed. Passing off other people’s photographs as your own could land you in hot water.
12. Please do not use the site to advertise your business or products (unless you have our prior consent).
13. We are happy for other rescue organisations to be mentioned on this site. However, we will not tolerate the site being used to sell animals or to advertise breeders or breeding services.
14. Whilst we are happy for people to talk about veterinary matters and problems their dogs may be encountering, please remember that there is no substitute for the advice of a qualified veterinarian.
15. Dogs Trust advocates training based on kindness and reward. Any posting that involves punishment-based training techniques will be removed and the poster liable to a ban.
16. Malicious or potentially libellous postings of any description will be removed.
17. DoggySnaps is free to use but please remember it is run by a charity that cares for thousands of abandoned dogs. Your donations will help to save dogs in need as well as keeping the site running.
